Biography

"Christophe Avon is a versatile French artist celebrated for his work as both a painter and a musician (keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist), as well as for his scientific contributions. Born in 1967 in Nice, France, Avon has Italian and English roots and currently resides in Cagnes-sur-Mer, near Vence on the French Riviera, a region also cherished by artists like Chagall, Renoir, and Jean Cocteau. His artistic journey began at the Municipal School of Plastic Arts Villa Thiole in Nice, and in 1987, he started his career in computer-aided design as a graphic designer and illustrator. Avon’s talent extends beyond the visual arts; he is also recognized for his numerous books and scientific papers on the evolution of species. Throughout his 40-year career, Avon has showcased his versatility by creating art under various pseudonyms, including Paolo Galleri and Sokoshin, each reflecting different facets of his creative expression. Despite living with severe agoraphobia, which significantly limits his ability to navigate public spaces, Avon’s career has flourished, demonstrating his remarkable resilience and expertise in visual communication. As a renowned jazz composer from Nice, Avon has carved a unique niche in the jazz world with his innovative fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds. His lifelong immersion in music has fueled a deep passion for the genre. Today, Avon continues to push musical boundaries with his upcoming album while also dedicating time to mentoring the next generation of musicians through workshops and masterclasses.
